  after 45 years as a jehovah's witness, this tragic story really has me really questioning if there really is a god?

  So you are saying it took a house fire to question God? Weren't the famines, cancer, suffering, crime, homelessness, pandemics, and stories about flooding the entire world to kill a few humans enough?

  Here is what I wrote:

  I don't know the answer any more. I have become an agnostic!

  This thread I started really punched me in the gut a couple of days ago.

  I received an e-mail asking if I would like to donate money on a GoFundMe account that was started for the surviving husband who lost his wife and four children. I purchase landscape equipment from the company who started the GoFundMe account. He is an employee of the company. I have never met him, but this tragedy really touched my heart!

  I read that the Mexican government paid all expenses to fly family members to the United States for the funeral. The funeral home waived all their fees and the Catholic Church is helping the father of the victims any way they can.

  So you're questioning the existence of God? Are you still a Jehovah's Witness, or are you a member of some other faith?

  I was a Jehovah's Witness for 45 years and left 9 years ago. I do not attend any other denomination, nor intend to study any other religion. After joining this site 16 years ago, I have read more threads about the Bible and discussed more issues than when I was a Jehovah's Witness.

  I read all the Noah, Cain and Abel, Samson, Jonah, Job, David and Goliath and the hundreds of Bible accounts and really believed they were all true when I was a Jehovah's Witness. After debating and reading all the different points of views on this site, I now believe all these accounts are man- made fabrications. After you dissect all these Bible accounts, you realize how silly they are.

  I do not believe in the big bang theory, that we came from apes or we came from nothing. I believe there was a designer. However, little by little every day I ask myself, '' Can a righteous God be one sided?
  

  This thread I started really punched me in the gut a couple of days ago. After being taught and believing how Jehovah blesses Witnesses in field service, protecting us from Satan and having the Governing Body direct us and guide us in all spiritual manners, how can God bless people in such a minor detail? If God sends angels to direct the preaching work, why didn't God direct the angels in helping this family escape this tragic fire? How is the husband going to live the rest of his life without his wife and four children? Is God partial or impartial?

  I don't knows the answer any more. I have become an agnostic!

  After 45 years as a Jehovah's Witness, this tragic story really has me really questioning if there really is a God? If there is, why didn't God help this family find a way to walk away from the burning house. The father was not home at the time of the fire to help his family walk out safely. He now faces the rest of his life without his wife and four small children.

  IN THE MEAN TIME IN WATCHTOWER LAND:

  Jehovah is credited with delivering the needed sand by the means of a typhoon that misses the island but with the high winds and the churning of the water, sand is deposited onto the local streets. The local village chiefs tell the Witness construction committee they can have all the sand if they clear all the sand off the streets. The project gets completed.

  1. No more boring and monotone speakers

  2. No more weekday meetings, coming home from work, throwing food in your belly, driving half hour each way and coming home around 10:00 p.m.

  3. No more Sunday meetings... where your whole day is ruined by a 3:00 p.m. meeting

  4. No more repetitive talks, repetitive Watchtower articles and repetitive Book Studies

  5. Don't need to wear a suit and tie

  6. No more cliques

  7. No more summer assemblies in sweltering outdoor stadiums

  8. Don't need to be reminded that Heavy Metal music is Devil music.. I don't any any lectures on what is considered the best music from 80 year old's

  9. Read books and magazines that have different points of views, than the Watchtower slanted views

  10. Ain't judged by Elders on how my ''spirituality'' is progressing, field service hours

  11. Don't worry about Armageddon arriving

  12. No more Watchtower reading material that is slanted to make it look like ''Jehovah Witnesses'' are God's chosen people...and after really reading the Bible, finding out that the Bible is just fabricated stories

  By the end of 2015, some 23,000 Witness volunteers had worked at Warwick alongside members of the United States Bethel family. In addition, some 750 construction workers who are not Jehovah’s Witnesses helped to keep the project on schedule. Working closely with Jehovah’s Witnesses made a deep and positive impression on many of those tradesmen.

  Has anyone ever worked as a construction volunteer for a Jehovah's Witness project?

  Who pays for hotel and food ( breakfast, lunch, dinner )?

  Do you bring in your own equipment and tools?

  Who provided insurance for injuries on the job?

  What was the work schedule? Did it feel like'' spiritual paradise'' or just another project?

  There are idiots out there that will work building these facilities and give money as well, the WTS heads (GB) know this or they wouldn't be pushing this agenda.

  Ramapo, New York. The property is located approximately two miles (3 km) from world headquarters in Warwick, New York. The goal is to begin construction in 2022 and complete it by December 2026. During the peak of construction, the project will require an estimated 1,500 volunteers per day.
  

  WATCH THE VIDEO A NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IS BEING PLANNED​—EXCERPT, AND THEN ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

  • How can volunteers help with this project?... ( Prayers, support and a strong back )

  • What evidence has there been that Jehovah is steering this project?... ( Jehovah already knows how this project will be completed )

  • How can we support this project even if we are unable to help personally with construction?...( Show their thankfulness and zeal for Jehovah )

    How does Watchtower Society get donations to purchase property, convince thousands of volunteers to offer free labor for weeks or even months, and get this project that will have offices, housing, audio/ production facilities moving along?

    Convince the duped members that ''they'' are demanding more audio and video productions, along with Jehovah's blessing and his foresight to getting this project completed.

    For some reason, Jehovah is delaying Armageddon once again!

  Remembering Kenneth Christensen

  i remember ken back in 1959 when i was a freshly married 18 ½ year old.

  according to his obit he was some 7 years older than me.

  i don’t know how much earlier he had been appointed, but he was the marshalltown, ia, congregation servant (the presiding overseer) at a time when 25 year olds were rare.

  We have no way of knowing the true feelings of those still in as they may reflect on those who've left the fold.

  I agree. We really don't know what their true feelings are. They follow the strict orders of the Society.

  On social media if a JW mentions an ex JW fondly, he probably would be chastised.

  Here is what Anthony Morris told fellow members how he feels about those who have left the fold...

  '' Especially these despicable apostates who at one point had dedicated their life to God''

  Kenneth Christensen made an impression on you. Since he was so dedicated to the end, doesn't it bother you on the way these so-called loyal brothers treat members who either quit or get disfellowshipped? Why does he still live in your mind, but we don't live in theirs?
